This market refers to the Guinness World Records title “Highest grossing videogame in 24 hours.” The relevant period is the videogame’s first 24 hours following its initial official release. Grand Theft Auto V currently holds this record. Grand Theft Auto V, developed by Rockstar Games, sold 11.21 million copies and grossed $815.7 million worldwide within 24 hours of its release on September 17, 2013.
